VoIP Leaders DigiLinea and Linksys Team to Offer Turn Key Solution to Latin American and US Hispanic Markets

DigiLinea (www.DigiLinea.com), the leading Voice over IP (VoIP) service provider to the US Hispanic and Latin American markets, and Linksys, the leading provider of voice, wireless and networking solutions for the Home, Small Office and Small Business, have teamed to offer a bundled turnkey VoIP solution to the Latin American and US Hispanic markets. The DigiLinea and Linksys relationship will enable consumers and small businesses to purchase Linksys Phone Adapters (PAP2) that are pre-configured with the DigiLinea VoIP service assuring that starting to use your VoIP phone service is as easy as possible. This relationship combines DigiLinea's pan regional VoIP platform linking the US Hispanic and Latin American markets with unlimited calling and local Latin American telephone numbers from across the region and Linksys' strength in broadband networking solutions with a strong foot print throughout Latin America.

Irvine, CA and Doral, FL (PRWEB) April 3, 2006 -- DigiLinea (www.DigiLinea.com), the leading Voice over IP (VoIP) service provider to the US Hispanic and Latin American markets, and Linksys, the leading provider of voice, wireless and networking solutions for the Home, Small Office and Small Business, have teamed to offer a bundled turnkey VoIP solution to the Latin American and US Hispanic markets.

"We are happy to be working with Linksys as this relationship is very mutually beneficial as it plays to DigiLinea's strength in providing VoIP service to the Latin American and US Hispanic markets, and our vertical integration into Latin America with local licensing, telephone numbers, fulfillment and payment options all of which are necessary to offer VoIP services region wide, but which are extremely difficult and time consuming to develop as each country is unique. Linksys provides great VoIP equipment and the high quality and reliability necessary to deploy on the DigiLinea pan regional VoIP network." said Gregory Keough, CEO of DigiLinea. "This arrangement will allow consumers to purchase their Linksys PAP2 units pre configured with the DigiLinea VoIP service and local Latin American telephone number and unlimited calling plan making adopting VoIP much easier for the Latin American and US Hispanic markets which I think is great news for consumers and businesses region wide."

"The fact that DigiLinea is a pan regional VoIP service provider with operations across Latin America and links into the US Hispanic community makes them a logical distribution partner as we expand our VoIP product deployment throughout the region," said Marcelo Viteri, Linksys regional manager for Latin America. "DigiLinea's operations in Latin America allow them to provide local telephone numbers and product configuration, payment, and delivery on a local level throughout the region, which should make the adoption of VoIP a more turnkey and easier endeavor region wide."

This collaboration will also offer retailers in Latin America and catering to the US Hispanic market the unique opportunity to provide for the first time a turn key integrated VoIP offering catering specifically to the needs of these markets with local Latin American telephone numbers and unlimited calling plans. This relationship and the VoIP solution provided is seen as the first step in the move from early adopters to the mass adoption of VoIP technology in the Latin American and US Hispanic markets.

Motorola i580 a Rugged Phone

With virtually everyone know carrying some sort of wireless device, it is almost a given that they will get beat up eventually. To help stem the tide of damage to wireless devices, many manufacturers are rolling out tougher and tougher models.

Motorola recently announced the introduction of its Motorola i580, the newest iDEN handset to answer the call for an ultra-durable, stylish, fully equipped, yet rugged handset.

The i580 actually boasts strict specifications set by the military for dust, shock, blowing rain, and vibration.  It also includes extensive multimedia features such as Bluetooth and a 1.3 megapixel camera along with video and text messaging.

For those who enjoy the outdoors, outdoor activities, or a tough day on the job, this phone’s durable and rugged design will withstand the punishment.

“At Motorola, we constantly strive to deliver products that are as remarkable as their users — whose lives are fast paced and demanding — and the Motorola i580 is designed to live with them, through tough weather conditions or less than optimal treatment,” said Peter Aloumanis, director, U.S. Markets Division, Motorola's iDEN Mobile Devices.  “However, durability does not mean limited functionality,” he assured.

Other features that are included on the I580 are:

  • Push-to-Smart Replies — for those difficult times you can send a discrete message using this feature
  • Push-to-Meet — create datebook reminders and send them to other users of the i580
  • Push-to-X (PTX) Manager — the menu manager allows users to control all of the features from one sleek and intuitive menu
  • Enhanced support for the visually impaired — the I580 even include simulated voice functionality to walk the users through the menus-perfect for the hearing-impaired
  • Front Ported Audio Support — dual front speakers
  • New Lithium Ion Battery — everyone will enjoy the enhanced battery life as well
