With simple controls, a built-in LCD display and a focus on comfort and style the Sony Ericsson HBH-660 is a must-have for Bluetooth-enabled phones. A quick glance at the headset`s "Info Display" lets you know who`s calling. You can also make, take, or reject calls with the easy-to-use buttons on the headset.

Reviews for Sony Ericsson HBH-660 Bluetooth Headset

Look Aren`t Everything
I just purchased a Motorola e815 from VZW, and was looking forward to using a bluetooth headset and being free of wires. I thought the caller ID was a great feature, and perhaps worth the premium price. After two hours of wearing the headset, I had to get rid of it.

Pros
Light weight
Great styling
LCD readout
Battery status bar
Easy bonding with my phone
Flawless connection with cell phone voice calling and answering calls
Able to hear caller clearly, even in noisy environment

Cons
Earpiece is thick rubber or silicone
Mic picked up lots of ambient noise to produce static on the other end
Caller ID did not display name, only number
Pricey

The earpiece was uncomfortable from the start. Never could get it adjusted so it didn`t rub on the back of my ear. After two hours my ear hurt when I took it off. Not a good sign. It looks like you might be able to bend or shape the earpiece some, but I couldn`t get it to work for me. The thickness was also noticeable.

I took it out to the mall and made and received some calls. The ambient noise was picked up by the mic and produced a lot of static on the other end and made it hard to hear me. On the other hand, the earphone, while it didn`t rest in the ear but slightly over the ear opening, was very clear and intelligible so that I wasn`t straining to hear what the other person was saying. The ambient noise level wasn`t excesssive, but I didn`t bother to try it out in louder circumstances because my ear was uncomfortable and I knew I couldn`t live with that. I imagine because of its design to sit above the ear canal rather than in it, it would have required a higher volume to counteract the ambient noise. The good thing is that when the headset is not in use, you can hear with that ear.

I was quite disappointed with the caller ID. The numbers are small, and when an area code is listed, it scrolls horizontally. It didn`t display the name even when the caller was in my phonebook. That would`ve been the most useful feature for me.

The electronics worked great. Pairing and using the headset was easy. I didn`t try out the claim of 5 hrs talk time, but it`s probably true. The unit weight was neglible, and wouldn`t have been obtrusive if the earpiece had fit me better.

Overall, nice concept, but execution is not on par with the concept. I got a Motorola HS850 to try out, and will post my impressions when I can test it out. Just off the bat, its thin earpiece doesn`t hurt my ear at all, and the 8 hr talktime sounds good, plus it`s cheaper than the Sony.

"Head"set over heels
I just got this product after returning a very nice headset from logitech. It really is AWESOME. The logitech was very nice in terms of audio quality, but was a bit heavy and bulky and always felt like it was going to fall off. This unit is feather lite and felt very snug and `slim` on the ear. The best part though is the audio quality. As good as the logitech was, it does not compare to this product as the volume is very loud so you can actually hear in the car and outdoors. I give it thumbs up...way up even though it`s a bit heavy on the wallet.

Bluetooth White Paper

Bluetooth White Paper

The beauty of the internet is that information is so readily available to almost any problem or concern that you may come across.  We did a little research and came up with some terrific free white papers on Bluetooth technology.  The first deals with Bluetooth protocol stack.

What is the Bluetooth Protocol Stack?

The Bluetooth protocol stack consists a set of related software routines, or protocols, each of which performs one of the tasks required toaccomplish the communications between the two devices. The various protocols within the Bluetooth protocol stack work together to ensurethat data is transmitted reliably from one Bluetooth device to another Bluetooth device. This concept of multiple protocols working together is similar to the one used by other highly successful protocol stacks, such as TCP/IP, NetWare, and SNA.  Get the white paper here...

Nextlink Bluespoon 5G Bluetooth Headset Review

HARDWARE Mobile Gadget News Reviews the Nextlink Bluespoon 5G Bluetooth Headset
Posted by Ekkie Tepsupornchai @ 02:00 PM

"I have been a huge fan of Nextlink's Bluespoon brand of Bluetooth headsets for a while now. I have been using a Bluespoon AX for a year, and love it. It has everything I wanted in a headset; loud volume, comfortable fit, and inconspicuous design. The Bluespoon AX was the smallest headset in the world, until the Bluespoon 5G came along. So it was with great excitement that I began testing the Bluespoon 5G, the worlds smallest Bluetooth headset. Weighing in at just 5 grams, hence the 5G name, the 5G is not only extremely small but extremely light."

You may recall a
review from PocketNow that we posted on previously regarding this tiny little headset. Now, Mobile Gadget News has jumped into the fray with their review as well. If you have some cash to burn... er... I mean... if you have a LOT of cash to burn on a new headset, this may be your cup of tea at $399 USD!! Anyone else get to try this? Let us know.

Reviews for Think Outside Bluetooth Stowaway Travel Mouse for Pocket PC PDA

mighty mouse
the best mouse ever, the thing is small, stylish, and it is comfortable to use. i use it with my hp laptop and it works flaulessly. I dont use it for gaming, but I notice no lag while using it about 6 feet from the computer. definitely better than my old Microsoft Intellimouse Explorer 3.0 (no so bulky and more comfortable, wireless!!). I like that it automatically turns off after 5 minutes and any click reactivates it instantly. the only bad thing is that it consumes batteries fast.
It works!!! A travel mouse that finally works!!!
This is my second travel mouse and I am very happy with it. First, it DOES work with a Windows XP Laptop (Fujitsu Lifebook). Second, the Bluetooth operation is nearly flawless. Once turned on and a mouse button clicked my laptop Bluetooth card picks it up right away. The only strange thing is that there seems to be an ever so slight lag between the mouse and cursor positions. It is tolerable though. The form factor is perfect. The on/off button is easy to use. Highly recommended.
A little dinky, but oh-so practical!
Do you hate dongles hanging out the back of your laptop? Me too. I figured I`d give this a go and see if it worked. Oh boy does it ever. Simple, quick, accurate and dependable. No more dodgy mousepad or pointing sticks!

Great product for a good price.
